Cappadocia Region is a magical land of different rock formations and
has an amazing historical heritage.
It
is recommended to stay a minimum of 3 days to get an idea of this land
besides covering the 'must seen places'' such as;
Goreme Open air
Museum, Zelve Open Air Museum, Derinkuyu & Kaymakli Underground
cities, besides the the charming town of Avanos, on the banks
of the Kizilirmak River, boasts attractive local architecture and is
known for its handicrafts, Cavusin, on the road leading north
out of Goreme where you will find a triple-apse church and the
monastery of St. John the Baptist, Ortahisar and its carved-rock
fortress; Soganli Valley, with its innumerable chapels,
churches, halls, houses and tombs. The frescoes, from the 8th to the
13th centuries, trace the development of Byzantine painting,
Mustafapasa (former name Sinasos) where traditional stone houses
with carved and decorated facades evoke a former age and Urgup,
a lively tourist center at the foot of a rock ridge riddled with old
dwellings and the remainings of the SEljukian Caravanserai's on the
Silk Road.
We
do highly reccomend a hot air balloon
flight one morning to start with.
